What to Expect at Your Baby’s First Birthday Session

Your baby’s first birthday is such an exciting milestone! I believe that it’s one of the milestones that deserves to be celebrated and remembered. A Warm Welcome

When you arrive at our cozy East Aurora studio, you’ll immediately feel at ease. I know babies can take a little time to warm up, so we start slowly, letting your child explore and get comfortable before the camera comes out.

45-60 Minutes of Fun

Each first birthday session lasts anywhere from about 45 to about 60 minutes. I’ve found that this is just the right amount of time to capture beautiful portraits without overwhelming your baby. This window allows for outfit changes, family portraits, and, if you’d like, an optional cake smash at the end.

Minimal, Timeless Styling

My approach is simple and elegant, focusing on your child rather than busy props or backdrops. With neutral tones, soft textures, and natural posing, the images feel timeless. My goal is that they will be something you’ll love just as much years from now as you do today.

Optional Cake Smash

If you choose to include a cake, we’ll save it for the end of the session. Some babies dive right in, while others just curiously poke at the frosting. Either way, it’s always a fun way to celebrate turning one!
