When you come in for your newborn session, you'll be welcomed into the studio with snacks, water, a hot cup of coffee or tea, and a few hours just to sit back, take a break from new mom life, and watch your new baby be photographed.

I'd love to hear all about what you're envisioning for a session! During your consultation, we will chat about who's going to be there, what the most meaningful moments you're hoping to capture will be, and I'll give you some ideas on what to wear to feel your best.

If you're a parent, I'd guess that your calendar is already busy. We offer consultations virtually via Zoom/ FaceTime, or in person at the studio. Some parents will FaceTime during their lunch break at work, some bring their kids with them into the studio, and some will even  ask for an evening time slot that's not publicly listed. I know that these photos are important to you and I will do my best to accommodate your family's scheduling needs.

step 2: your
session

The day of your session is when all the magic happens! Whether it's a golden hour sunset to enjoy with your kids or a couple of hours to relax in the studio while I work with your newborn, the session is where your entire vision comes to life.

Newborn, cake smash, and milestone sessions all take place in the comfort of my studio. Maternity and family sessions have the option of taking place either in studio or outdoors. Wherever we end up, we will create beautiful memories for your family to enjoy for decades to come.

STEP 3: SAME DAY
ORDERING APPOINTMENT

One unique feature about our studio is that you get to see the images the same day that they're taken. About an hour after the session end time, we will meet up at the studio for you to view your images, select your favorites, and place your portrait order.

For daytime studio sessions, many parents will fill the time before the ordering appointment with a lunch outing in East Aurora. For outdoor evening sessions, many parents will drop the kids off at home with a sitter, grab ice cream or drinks, then meet me at the studio. For any scheduling conflicts that would not allow you to enjoy same day ordering, the appointment may be postponed to a later date as well.

HOW IT WORKS

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a newborn session if I don't know when my baby will arrive?
Together, we will select a tentative session date that falls within approximately 1-2 weeks of your due date. Then when baby arrives, I ask that you reach out within a day or two of delivering so that we can solidify a date and time for your session. I only take on a limited amount of due dates per month to ensure availability for all of my newborn clients, including early or late babies.

Do your sessions include family and sibling photos?
They sure do! Many moms aren't sure if they will want to be part of the session or not, but I promise that your son or daughter will cherish these first few photos together someday and highly encourage family portraits for everyone.

Do I need to bring outfits for the baby?
I have everything you could possibly need at the studio including outfits, swaddles, high end props, headbands, hats, accessories, and even the basics such as diapers, sterilized pacifiers, and a bottle warmer. Unless there's something specific you want to bring, all you need to bring is yourself and the baby!

Where is your studio located?
The address of my studio is 21 Elm St., East Aurora, NY 14052

What happens if my baby is fussy?
I have worked with a wide range of newborn temperaments and more than likely, we will work together to find a way to soothe your baby. I use a heater to keep the studio cozy for your baby and will usually have a sound machine going to soothe him or her as well. However, if typical soothing tactics aren’t working, we will move on to a feed and a break to snuggle with mom and dad. In more extreme cases, we may need to reschedule for a later date, however this is a rare occurrence that usually happens if baby is unknowingly sick, uncomfortable from reflux, or is experiencing some not yet diagnosed allergies in the formula or breastmilk.
