6 Buffalo Photo Locations

Have you been looking at photographers for family portraits in Buffalo but just aren’t sure where to start when it comes to choosing a location? I’d love to share some of my favorites with you!

1. Knox Farm (East Aurora, NY)

I may be partial because my portrait studio is also located in East Aurora, but Knox Farm is one of the most popular location selections for family photographers in Buffalo and for good reason! It boasts beautiful sunsets, tall grasses, and several different backdrops to quickly walk to. It’s always a hit for outdoor photography sessions. For more information on this park, I encourage you to visit their website here.

2. Amherst State Park (East Amherst, NY)

This park truly has it all. There is open green fields, lines of trees, an opening to a creek, a bridge, and a field that is gorgeous at golden hour. This is a less known option, yet a Buffalo family photographer’s dream location, especially at sunset. For more information on this park, I encourage you to visit their website here.

3. Tifft Nature Preserve (Buffalo, NY)

Best photographed at sunrise, Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo is a beautiful, versatile backdrop for family portraits. In addition to the many trees and fields, there’s also a beautiful dock overlooking the water for some variety in your images. For more information on this park, I encourage you to visit their website located here.

4. Mill Road Park (West Seneca, NY)

A true hidden gem! Mill Road Park in West Seneca has an area where it’s shallow enough to wander right into the water with your kids for family portraits! Best photographed at sunset, the creek also has some beautiful pathways for capturing your best memories with your family. This park does not have it’s own website, but I encourage you to check out photos on it’s Google Listing here.

5. Delaware Park (Buffalo, NY)

A classic Buffalo location, Delaware Park in Buffalo is large enough for plenty of variety in your images! Whether you choose to be near the water, architecture, or the flowers in the rose garden, you won’t be disappointed in your choice to be photographed there. For more information on this park, visit their website here.

6. Green Lake (Orchard Park, NY)

Another spot that’s a little less known is Green Lake in Orchard Park. It can give small body of water vibes along with cozy park vibes and is truly a one stop shop! There’s even a playground in the back you can take your kids to afterward, a great motivation for after photos. For more information on this park, visit their website here.
