Buffalo Newborn Photography

The Buffalo newborn photography scene is filled with talented photographers. Whether you have a session booked or you’re looking to book one soon, here are 4 great ways to prepare for a newborn session before you deliver your baby.

4 Ways to Prepare for a Newborn Session (Before Delivering)

1.) Pack the diaper bag

This step will not only be useful when preparing for your newborn photography session, but also for your first visit to the pediatrician! Be sure to add plenty of extra diapers, wipes, burp clothes, bottles, extra outfits, and a few extra pacifiers to the bag. Checking this off of your pre-baby to-do list is simple, but it will make your freshly postpartum life so much easier!

2.) Set aside your outfits

The first few days after delivering your baby, the last thing that will be on your mind is outfit selection. This is why I recommend shopping for and setting out your outfits before baby even arrives! I know it’s hard to know what you’ll feel good in postpartum, so having a couple of different sizes in the same piece is always helpful (just save the receipts!).

3.) Touch base with your photographer

Like I mentioned above, the Buffalo newborn photography scene is filled with amazing photographers who have likely already touched base with you already! But if they haven’t, definitely reach out, especially to inform them of any changes to your delivery plans. Scheduled inductions, scheduled c-sections, or any other complications are always something to inform your photographer of.

4.) Schedule a newborn session if you haven’t already!

Your baby’s squishy little cheeks will be here before you know it! I always recommend scheduling your newborn session during your second trimester to ensure availability for your due date. If you’re late to the game, don’t panic– just reach out as soon as possible so we can get you on the calendar as soon as possible 🙂
