Are you in Buffalo and in the market for a family photographer soon? I’d love to walk you through a couple of my favorite tips and tricks for a successful family session in Buffalo, NY!
.) Outfits: I always recommend solid neutrals to all of my clients as a general rule of thumb. However, if you’re planning on hanging your portraits in your home, we will carefully plan out the details at your design consultation to be sure that they coordinate well with the decor that is already in your home.
.) Location: This is another thing that we will review at your design consultation! I’ve been a Buffalo family photographer for 9 years now and have found that some clients come in with a specific vision (a field, creek, sunset, etc.), and some need a little more guidance and inspiration. Both are perfectly fine and I’m here to help put together an amazing session for you, whatever that may look like for your family.
.) Season: The season that your portrait session takes place in will greatly impact your photos. The angle of the sun in each location will be different depending on the time of year. A seasoned photographer will know all of the best spots and during which months, so be sure to plan accordingly!
.) Time of Day: The time of day in which you schedule your session will also have an impact on your images. I encourage families to schedule at sunset to ensure beautiful, golden lighting in their images. And if you have young kids who go to bed early, mid to late fall is a perfect time to book, when the sun sets earlier in the evening.
